Compassionate Ministry

Exposing the diminishing relevance of faith to society, by shining the light of truth on all beliefs is one of our missions.  We recognize that each of us hold some beliefs which are not based in truth.  As a result, while we vocally reject and disrespect dogma and faith, we respect and embrace the individual, and understand that faith is an affliction that we all suffer from to some extent.  So we are outspoken but compassionate.  Similar to the philosophy of the Roman Catholic "Saint" Augustine of Hippo, we Brights; "Love the Faithful, but hate the faith"

Embrightenment

We recognize that no belief is above question, and that our understanding of the universe is incomplete.  We are eager to discover differences between our beliefs and evidence, so we may continually improve and refine our understanding of reality.

Public Service
Working as a local group, and through other secular organizations, we provide resources and service to allieviate suffering, minister to those in need, and improve the human condition.

Fostering Cooperation
Th
e Brights Community of the Tri-Valley works with other Brights/Freethinkers/Atheist communities to promote fellowship, cooperation, networking, and dialogue as means to influence policy in all levels of our communities from neighborhood to global.

Maximizing resources
We seek the maximization and transparent stewardship of all the resources entrusted to us.  These resources are used to further the mission of The Brights Community of the Tri-Valley.
